The Feudal System was the political system based on the exchange of land for military service. During this time, everyone knew their place and that was the end of that. In the diagram above is a pyramid, showing the class divisions, determined by wealth of course! As depicted in the pyramid above, the order of class goes as follows: Lords, Vassals, Knights Serfs. Lords were wealthy landowners who could afford lives of luxury. Vassals were granted land by Lords called "fief". Under them were Knights who fought in exchange for land. Finally, were the serfs who worked for lords on their land. This time period was 9-15 AD.
